Hello, Bon Giorno, Czesc, My Friends and Family

First, let me thank you for visiting my site. My name is Anita Palazzo Serratore, and I'm the proud owner and operator of Nita-Baker? specializing in the finest homemade Italian and Polish pastries and sweets. I have been in business for 9 years and I am still growing thanks to all of you.

I would like to take you back in time and tell you a little about the history of the baking trade in my family. I am the fourth generation to continue this tradition. My great-grandfather started out as a baker in Poland working for his father. He then moved to Philadelphia in the late 1800's where he opened his own bakery.

Years later, my Pop-Pop was born in Philadelphia. As a young child and early teen he developed his passion and knowledge for baking by helping out with the family trade. At age eighteen, he joined the army and served as a baker. When he returned home, my Pop-Pop took over the family trade. Soon after, he got married and had five children. The trade was then passed to my uncle, who moved the business to New Mexico. About a year went by and with much disappointment the baking trade dissolved. As years moved forward, the baking business went untouched.

Meanwhile, my mother married and gave birth to five children as well. I am the second oldest and was very close with my Pop-Pop. I took an interest in his passion for baking and decided at an early age to be a baker too. Over the years of baking, I have taken a lot of time and worked very closely with my Italian grand mom so I can preserve all the Italian trades she has to offer us. With the knowledge of the Polish and Italian heritages I've been able to please many.

I am baking my little heart out and enjoying every minute of it. I have pride and satisfaction from using family recipes that are many years old. This allows me to continue a small bit of history while keeping it close to my heart.

Thank you for reading!
Enjoy and remember my motto:  "Fresh is the best when you bake quality sweets and pastries."
